What is CCC?

CCC (Customer Account Code) is the old Spanish bank account numbering format. It has 20 digits: 4 entity, 4 branch, 2 check and 10 account number.

What's the difference between CCC and IBAN?

IBAN adds a country prefix (ES) and 2 international check digits to the CCC. IBAN has been mandatory in the SEPA zone since 2014.

Can I still use my CCC?

Not for SEPA operations. Since February 2014, IBAN is mandatory for transfers and debits in the SEPA zone. However, the CCC is still contained within the IBAN.

Where do I find my CCC?

In old bank books, pre-2014 statements, or original account opening documentation. It's the 20 digits that appeared before IBAN implementation.
